Had some time to kill in Georgetown, SC so found this nice reach to an abandoned construction dock on the gator infested Sampit River. The wind was whipping when I shoved off from the boat landing at the end of Trout Street. The paddle to the old dock was just under 4 miles one-way. It’s a huge slab of concrete separated from the water with a corrugated iron wall. Massive tires hang over the edge. I walked a couple of gutted buildings and found a rusting crane in the woods covered in vines.
